Hong Kong

It has been over a year since I went to Hong Kong during the June holidays last year. It was a wonderful place. Its system of transport is very much the same like Singapore. It has trains like our MRT. They even have HDB housing estates like the one commonly seen in Singapore.

This is a picture of my brother and me on the airplane heading to Hong Kong. This was the second time I traveled via plane. The first time was when I was just 5 years old so I do not remember it. The food they gave was delicious! I especially like the way they presented the food in this small rectangular boxes. The bread with butter was very wonderful.

They also had this little television that you could pull out from under your chair. You could play games, listen to music or watch movies. I played this game called 'Zelda' but it was boring so I read my book instead.

The first picture shows the view from our hotel room in DisneyLand Resort. As you can see, the sea is visible from the balcony. The second picture shows the exterier of the hotel. It clearly resembles one of the palaces in the fairytails. The third once shows the lobby. It is very nicely decorated and also resembles like a palace.

On the second day, we went to the theme park. This is a picture of the entrance of the park. This is the 'best part' of the theme park. It is clearly based on a show about teenagers singing around their high school for no apparent reason and other people around them would either dance with them or do not even realise they are singing out of the blue. Amazing that people go crazy for such shows as equally as they would for a float with singers that look like the actors in the movie only that they have squinted eyes and look more Asian. They even lip sing!

Disney Land is divided into different parts. This one was called 'TomorrowLand'. There were planets and space ships. The exciting rides are also found in this section. There was one ride that goes into a dark tunnel. They used special effects to make it look like there's stars and exploding planets.
This is a picture of 'It's A Small World After All' . There was this big clock tower and when it rings, all this little dolls came out and started singing as shown in the second picture. There was also a ride inside the clock tower and it features some of these dolls. You may think it is childish but actually it was enjoyable and cute seeing these robotic doll move or dance as you sail down in a mini boat.

Overall the trip there was more then enjoyable. It really makes you feel as if you are inside one of Disney's fairy tails and you had to constantly remind yourself that your in the real world.
